16 Aggies in third place after first round at Marquette Intercollegiate – Texas A&M Athletics

ERIN, Esborra. – The 16ththThe Texas A&M men’s ranked golf team opened the 2021-22 season Sunday, shooting a 282 of 6 in the first round of play at the Marquette Intercollegiate held in Erin Hills. The Aggies are third and the Purdue Trail (-13) and South Florida (-10).

Michael (Heidelbaugh) and Phichaksn (Maichon) did a great job today. Walker Lee he led the Aggies with a 66 under 66, and is one shot from Mats Ege of East Tennessee State. The Houston, Texas native opened the round with three birdies in the first five holes before recording the back-to-back birdies at numbers 18 and 1. After a bogey at number 4, Lee bounced with birdies in holes 5 and 6.

Sam Bennett is tied at 20th, registering a minor under 71 years of age. Phichaksn Maichon He started his college career with an initial round of 72 and tied at 30th.

Competing in the Washington County Individual at the Washington County Golf Course in nearby Hartford, Wisconsin, Dallas Hankamer is in sixth place at 5 years old, William Paysse is tied in seventh place at 4 minors and Vishnu Sadagopan is tied for ninth at 2 minors.

“Overall, it’s nice to get eight guys on the road, and seven posted really good numbers out of eight,” Kortan added. “I’m very happy with that. It’s something we can take advantage of. We’re going to look for it and we’ll compete tomorrow.”
