MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KETK / The Tri-County Press) – Three workers from the daycare of Mountzeasant KidzKare Academy have been arrested this week. Two women were arrested for allegedly injuring several children who attended the nursery, according to the Tri-County press.
On Friday, 42-year-old Nicole Anschutzm was arrested at KidzKare Academy shortly after two-thirty in the afternoon. Anschutz has owned the nursery for the past six years.
As of this writing, no additional information is available on the specific charges related to his arrest.
On September 2, former KidzKare employee Amy Castaneda, 38, was arrested for a felony injury and sent to the Titus County Jail.
According to police, Castaneda’s arrest involved a child other than those related to the arrest of co-worker Erin Wilson, 25, on Sept. 1.
Wilson was arrested Sept. 1. She was the first of three employees arrested this week. Wilson was charged with three counts of injuring a child, according to Titus County court records. The bail for Wilson, who remains in the Titus County Jail, amounts to $ 500,000 for the three offenses.
The initial criminal investigation began on August 31 after police received a report from Child Protection Services (CPS) representatives about possible injuries by a childcare worker.
According to information from the affidavit of probable cause obtained by Tri-County Press, a father of one of the alleged victims, discovered his son injured. The boy was rushed to the emergency room and inspected.
A complaint was then filed with CPS. Officers later acquired video footage that allegedly showed Wilson hitting the boy and two other children in his care. The report also stated that Wilson later admitted that it was her in the video and that “she had been frustrated at work and was attacking the children.”
