After a long low season, high school football returns to the state of Texas. Starting Thursday night, almost every Lone Star State team began their season this weekend.
While there are still some great games on Saturday, including a nationally televised issue of Greater Houston, many of the games already appear in the books when Friday night ends.
There were a lot of really good performances across the state with some high-scoring issues between traditional powerhouses and some defensive battles.
Many of the best players in the state increased when they started the pads and presented very good statistics this week. The running game was especially impressive from several perspectives.
