Arrested in Murfreesboro, wanted Texas fugitive

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (WKRN) – A wanted Texas fugitive has been arrested in Tennessee, according to a Murfreesboro police statement.

The statement states that Dustin Donovan Thomas, 35, was released on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and domestic violence in Texas. An arrest warrant was issued when the ankle monitor was removed on August 9th. Federal authorities said he was “hiding” to avoid prosecution. ”

The North Texas fugitive working group contacted the joint Middle Tennessee fugitive working group on the change of vehicle registration from Texas to Tennessee. They also told authorities he could be in Murfreesboro.

Murfreesboro police located his vehicle at a house on East Castle Street around 11:25 a.m. Thomas detained at home for about 30 minutes before his brother let the officers in. They then took Thomas into custody.

Thomas is currently in jail at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on $ 100,000 bail. He will appear in the Rutherford County General Session Court in October.
