Bennett tied for third at Maridoe Collegiate Invitational – Texas A&M Athletics

CARROLLTON, Texas – Texas A&M Men’s Golf Sam Bennett he placed ninth in the top five of the race when he tied for third place at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational at the Maridoe Golf Club.

Bennett threw a 6-under-210 poster for the tournament after firing a 4-under 68 on Wednesday. The Madisonville, Texas native observed the first hole before a bogey at No. 3, but bounced with three birdies in the final six holes of the new striker. After making the turn, he watched No. 11 and No. 16 before a bogey at No. 17. Bennett finished once behind Cameron Sisk of Arizona State and Baard Skogen of Texas Tech.

As a team, Maroon & White ranked sixth with 17 more. Oklahoma No. 7 won the team title to 3 minors, one shot ahead of Texas No. 5.

“Sam did a great job and proved once again that he is a great competitor and one of the best players in college golf,” the head coach said. Brian Kortan dit. “We have to do more behind him to finish well in these strong events. We’ve seen a lot of good things this week, but we have to add five scores. We have to be stronger at the bottom to compete against the best teams. We have to work for getting there.It’s a quick start to the season with two tournaments just a couple of weeks out of the semester, but we have a lot of good things to take advantage of.I’m looking forward to coming back, starting work and improving.

Michael Heidelbaugh he recorded his second consecutive top-20 when he tied for 20th with 5 more. The Dallas, Texas native had a minor on Wednesday. Heidelbaugh shot 1 against the new striker, but counted the birdies back to back at numbers 11 and 12 to score a 71.

Walker Lee he tied for 23rd place at 6 above and shot a 73 in the final round. Phichaksn Maichon tied at 48th at 14 and Vishnu Sadagopan tied for 56th with 17 more years.

The Aggies return to action Oct. 10-12 at the SEC Match Play Championship at the Shoal Creek Country Club in Shoal Creek, Alabama.
