AUSTIN (KXAN) – As the coronavirus spreads to Texas public schools, KXAN keeps track of which local districts, classrooms, and grades are affected by closures and quarantines.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 7, nearly 52,000 public school students statewide have tested positive for COVID-19 this school year, according to data from the Texas State Department of Health Services.
Nor are only students affected. More than 13,000 staff members have also tested positive for the virus, as of Tuesday, Sept. 7, according to the state.
The following is a breakdown of school system closures in central Texas that have occurred so far during the 2021-22 school year.
All campuses in the district will be closed for two days (September 7-8).
Since Sept. 7, the district has listed at least 11 closures at seven different schools since the school year began. For four closures, the first day back in class will be September 13th or 14th.

Lake View ISD
Lago Vista High School: All high school students will move into remote learning from Wednesday, September 8 to Friday, September 10.
Canyon Ridge Middle School: All sixth graders moved into remote learning for 10 days starting Sept. 3.
Danielson Middle School: All sixth graders sent home to distance learning for 10 days starting August 30th. Students will return on September 10th.
Wiley Middle School: All sixth graders moved into remote learning for 10 days starting Sept. 3.
Liberty Hill ISD
Bill Burden Elementary School: Three classrooms were temporarily closed at this school.
Liberty Hill Middle School: All eighth graders went into remote learning through Sept. 10.
As of Sept. 5, 781 students in the district are in quarantine. Four classes and a student program are temporarily closed and more closures are expected.
Round Rock ISD
Brushy Creek Elementary: A classroom closed until Tuesday, September 14th. Students will move on to remote learning.
Caldwell Heights Elementary: A classroom closed for 10 days beginning Thursday, August 26th. Students will have a remote learning.
Fern Bluff Elementary: Two classrooms closed for 10 days starting Thursday, August 26th. Students will have a remote learning.
