CLEMSON, SC. – In Clemson’s first road game of the 2021 campaign, Texas A&M No. 20 (1-2, 0-0 SEC) defeated the Tigers (2-1, 0-0 ACC) 3-1 in a heavily fought match on Saturday night at College Station.

The Aggies hit first with a score in the 19th minute. However, Hensley Hancuff avoided further damage with a penalty kick in the 30th minute to keep the deficit at one goal for the first 45 minutes. The senior goalkeeper added three stops in the period.

In the second half, the Tiger’s offensive broke out. After a fine move down the middle Renee Lyles nearly gave the home side a goal after 62 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. It was the third goal of his first freshman career. However, Texas A&M responded immediately with a score of its own just a minute later.

The Aggies found the back of the net in the 79th minute to leave the game out of reach.

The Tigers will then travel to Athens to fight the Georgia Bulldogs on Thursday, September 2nd.

The match will start at 7 p.m. For full coverage of the Clemson women’s soccer team, follow @ClemsonWSoccer at Twitter, Instagram i Facebook.
