Senator Cruz says Biden is trying to cover up poor conditions at Texas migrant facilities

His. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said the Biden administration is trying to cover up the poor condition of Texas migrant facilities.

Cruz and his Republican parliamentary representatives Chip Roy of Texas and Nancy Mace of South Carolina held a press conference after spending time with the Border Patrol in Laredo, Texas.

Lawmakers answered questions after talking about their experiences traveling with Border Patrol agents and seeing the crisis first hand.

While answering a media question, Cruz presented a previous trip he made with 19 senators to the Donna, Texas facility, and described it as a “giant tent city” with unpacked children unattended. the restrictions of COVID.

“You had kids packed in there. They weren’t six feet apart, as you might expect during the panic. They weren’t three feet apart. They weren’t three inches apart. They’re literally packed so close they’re next to each other. “There were no beds. There were no cots. There were no mats. They sleep on the floor, children, wrapped in emergency reflective blankets. They are so tightly packed that there is no room to move. As I said at the time.” , the COVID positivity rate was over 10%, ”Cruz said.

Cruz then accused the Biden administration of trying to hide the poor condition of the Donna migrant exploitation plant by not allowing the press inside.

“Because the reason the administration didn’t want to do press was because they didn’t want anyone to know what was going on,” Cruz said. “Their hope was to cover it up. The hope is that no one will see the disaster they were creating.”

During the press conference, Cruz said Border Patrol agents are “frustrated” with the Biden administration’s lack of response to the border crisis and that he did not know “how these guys don’t just say” to hell with everything “and they leave.”

“Morale has never been lower than it is now because the Biden administration will not allow the ICE to do its job,” Cruz said.

Roy highlighted the toll the crisis has suffered City under seven flags. “The state of Texas is under siege and the good people of Laredo are at the forefront of this attack.” Said Roy.

“Where is the president? Where is the president’s administration?” he asked. “They were here.”

Mace intervened and expressed that she was “shocked” by what she saw at the border.

Laredo marked the next stop on Cruz and Roy’s trip to Texas to learn more from local officials and stakeholders about how the border crisis is affecting them.

A Tuesday roundtable in Bourne, Texas, Cruz said that the “crazy” thing about the crisis is that it is the result of elections calculated by the president and vice president.

“What’s so crazy is that this crisis is artificial,” Cruz said. “It was caused by deliberate political decisions of this administration, of [President] Joe Biden and others [Vice President] Kamala Harris “.
