BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M softball head coach Jo Evans announced the incorporation of Peter Suarez to its staff as director of programming and program development. With Aggies, Suárez will be responsible for helping to develop strategies through analytics, data and new technologies.

Suarez arrives in Aggieland after a five-year stint in Iowa as director of softball operations, where he helped with team videos, exploration reports, team trips and arrangements. recruitment.

During his time with the cyclones, his organization and diligence played a key role in the program’s rise to the national stage. In 2021, Suárez was part of the Iowa state staff that led the largest season in the program’s history, culminating in the first appearance of the NCAA Cyclone Tournament since 1988. The State of Iowa he also advanced to his first NCAA regional final in Columbia, Missouri.

Suarez was with the Cyclones during the hugely advanced 2017 season as Iowa State won six of its last seven Big 12 games to finish fifth in the conference and advanced to the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City. Suarez was then kept on the roster by new head coach Jamie Pinkerton, who arrived on campus in August 2017.

Suarez was hired in the state of Iowa by then-coach Jamie Trachsel of Stephen F. Austin, where he was assistant coach of the Ladyjacks, specializing in defense and hitting on the field. While graduating from the state of Florida, Suárez served as student manager for the 2012 to 14 softball program, where he worked alongside the current A&M coach and recruitment coordinator, Craig Snider. With Suarez on the staff, the Seminoles reached the 2014 Women’s World College World Series, ahead of the Tallahassee Super Regional with a 2-1 Series victory over Michigan.

The Miami, Florida native graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports management from the state of Florida in May 2014.
