Monday turned out to be an important day in Steve Sarkisian’s 2022 class trenches when they reached their second engagement, with the latest arrival in the form of Donaldsonville (La.) Ascension Catholic edge J’Mon Tapp.
Before his surprise nightly engagement, Tapp’s glass ball completely favored the state’s LSU Tigers, so it certainly serves as a welcome victory for the Horns. Tapp only paid an official visit before making his decision, but this was on the forty acres in late June.
“Texas is a strong suit for me. They’re up there, “Tapp told Orangebloods’ Jason Suchomel after his visit.” They’re up there in strong clothes. One, it’s just the school of my dreams. young ”.
Just over two months later, Tapp is a Longhorn, becoming the latest inside addition to a group that heads Sarkisian’s 2022 class.
Tapp is currently a four-star player ranked No. 9 in the country and No. 134 overall, according to 247Sports Composite. Tapp joins four-star Marlin defender Jaray Bledsoe as Monday’s engagement, and commits to No. 20 as part of a class that heads the Big 12 and ranks No. 7 nationally.
As a junior, the 6.3, 245-pound Tapp totaled 64 bouts, 13 steals and 5.5 sacks.
