Texas man arrested for a series of robberies in Middleton | Crime

A 43-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, has been arrested for a series of robberies along University Avenue, Middleton police said.

Security images captured at various locations identified Menes A. Weightman as the suspect in two robberies with force at Middleton and an attempted robbery, according to police.

On Sept. 15, around 11:50 p.m., Middleton police responded to an attempted robbery of a business on University Avenue. The next morning at 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at Dunn’s Auto at 6516 University Avenue. Later that morning, a robbery was reported at the Wolf Kubly Ace hardware store at 6305 University Avenue, police said.

Weightman’s video was shared with other local police agencies. Shortly afterwards, the Madison Police Department told Middleton police that officers had arrested Weightman on the morning of Sept. 16 at 2500 block of McDivitt Road for a Texas arrest warrant and several pending felony charges in Texas County. Police said Weightman was found with stolen property from the two Middleton robberies.
