UTSA (4-2-0) fought a Texas Tech team that controlled the tempo for most of the game. The Roadrunners allowed one goal in the first half in the 30th minute and two in the second in the 65th and 70th minutes. The Red Raider’s three goals were scored after a corner kick.
“Texas Tech is the best team we’ve played so far this season,” the UTSA coach said Derek Pittman dit. “Our players executed our game plan very well and did not give up any goals during the race. All three goals came from various phases of fixed plays and that is something we can fix. I am proud of our players for compete for 90 minutes with a top team. We will learn from that and prepare better for Lamar on Friday at home. ”
Texas Tech (5-0-1) had a 15-2 lead on total shots and a 7-0 lead on goal shots. The Red Raiders also maintained the lead in corners at night, with a 9-1 result.
Jil Schneider saved four goals on the night in 90 minutes, while Red Raider goalkeeper Madison White posted a shutdown.
Hannah Anderson (30 ‘and 70’) and Kirsten Davis (65 ‘) scored goals for Texas Tech in the evening. The Red Raiders had an assist, which came from Macy Blackburn.
UTSA will try to recover this week while on Friday it will host Lamar, which is part of the Drury Hotels Invite. The match will be the second of the day and will start at 7.30pm. This match will be played at the Park West athletics complex and will be streamed on CUSA TV.
